Muscle Physiology & Locomotor Biomechanics
My research program aims to understand how variation in movement arises in response to changes in the mechanical properties of the physical environment. I accomplish this by investigating how the evolution of locomotor specialization coincides with morphology, motor control, and muscle physiology. In the academic setting, my work contributes to our understanding of functional and mechanical features in extreme locomotor systems. My experimental approaches use dynamic muscle-tendon tests and whole muscle-limb imaging to provide insight into locomotor systems.
